Located in rural Shropshire, ABP Ellesmere is the most advanced beef production site in Europe. ABP has invested over £20 million to make Ellesmere a state-of-the-art, carbon neutral processing site. The site is able to fulfil the entire processing procedure from farm to fork of butchery.

The Butchery Apprenticeship standard is currently available at both Level 2 and 3 lasting between 18-24 months. We are looking to recruit Butchery Apprentices to join our team in September 2020. On successful completion of both levels, apprentices will be entitled to automatic registration to full membership of the Institute of Meat.
Many people in supervisory and management positions at ABP started their careers within our production departments, so this could be the start of a rewarding career for you.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Working in a busy department and learning how to be a great butcher.
Understanding of customer specifications and monetary impact.
Regular completion of apprenticeship coursework.
Completion of an assessment at the end of your training period.
Adhere to company Health, Safety, Training and Hygiene policies.
Carry out any other reasonable duties as required.
Knowledge and Experience:
The Butchery Apprenticeship will offer:
-£6.93 per hour. This means for a 40 hour week your weekly pay will be £277.20 gross.
-Full accredited training and professional support (duration 18 - 24 months).
